Job description:
• Support production and contract manufacturers by performing component engineering tasks including, but not limited to, component data sheet and manufacturer part number (MPN) review/update, alternative parts or manufacturer searching, product change notice (PCN) review and recommendations, End of Life (EOL) review and monitoring, NPI BOM/AVL critical components review and recommendations, and critical components failure analysis.
Required Job Skills:
• Have experiences in dealing with off the shelf electrical, electronics, and mechanical components;
• Able to search, evaluate, and qualify new or alternative components for new or existing products;
• Able to assist R&D on new products by identifying critical components including EOL, sole source, long lead time, and regulatory (UL, TUV, CE, RoHS) controlled parts;
• Support manufacturing, supply chain management, and contract manufacturers by maintaining and updating component AVL database up to date;
• Work with component manufacturers for failure analysis and corrective actions for improvement;
• Able to use PDM (Agile), ERP (Oracle), and component search database;
• Have good communication skills in dealing with component suppliers, production, contract manufacturers, supply chain mgmt, and R&D.
