Senior Software Engineer will work independently and as part of a team to design, develop and support the platform system software for Harmonics newest MPEG/AVC video encoding platform. This position will design, implement and improve several subsystems including our HTTP server, web control, provisioning subsystem, SNMP agent, internal messaging subsystem and our syslog application. The successful candidate will have a strong system background in C++ in an embedded environment using a real-time operating system with a flexible and positive attitude. You should also have strong networking experience in TCP/IP and other IP protocols with a desire to deliver the best video encoder in the world. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with customers, marketing and field service engineers are also required. The successful candidate will also have the ability to pick up concepts quickly and take them to market. Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver high quality software on time are necessary for this fast paced team.
Required Job Skills:
• BS in Computer Science, or related field
• 3 – 5 years of embedded software development experience with at least 3 years using C, C++.
• Network expertise in TCP/IP and other protocols like SNMP and RTP.
• Knowledge and experience with HTML, HTTP, XML, XSLT, JavaScript.
• Embedded web control interface design and deployment.
• Object oriented design experience
• VxWorks/Linux and embedded software is a plus .
